The Project. Rumor is a members-only platform built around access, trust, and cultural relevance. The challenge was designing for exclusivity without slipping into obscurity or friction. The product needed to feel personal and private, while still working at scale — serving members seeking access and hosts managing influence, all within a clear and coherent interface.
S25 led a full redesign across Rumor’s web and mobile platforms, aligning the experience with the brand’s core idea: connecting the people and experiences that shape culture. Key flows were simplified around event discovery, access requests, and guest-list management. A unified design system was introduced to support refinement without sacrificing usability or future growth.
The experience is intentionally restrained. Layouts are crisp, motion is purposeful, and visual decisions support focus rather than distraction. Whether requesting an invite or managing VIP access, interactions remain direct and fluid, reinforcing a sense of control on both sides of the platform.
Innovation. Rumor’s innovation sits in how exclusivity is operationalized. The product combines CRM-level tools for hosts with a discovery-driven experience for members, delivered through a single, mobile-first system. This balance allows curation without bottlenecks and control without complexity.
The design system is built to evolve. It supports future features such as monetized attendance, private circles, and talent collaboration, without fragmenting the product or diluting the brand. Innovation here isn’t about adding layers — it’s about creating infrastructure that protects culture while allowing it to scale.
