The Project. Makhina is a modular keyboard system designed for creative professionals who work across multiple disciplines. The challenge was to overcome the fixed nature of traditional keyboards in workflows that constantly change. The system is built from interchangeable hardware modules combined with intelligent software integration. Users can configure their setup based on task and discipline rather than adapting their workflow to a static layout. Each module is designed for a specific field — audio, video, 3D, streaming, AI — with layouts optimized for frequent actions and ergonomic use. Modules connect directly, configurations are readable, and interaction logic remains consistent across setups.
Innovation. Makhina bridges flexible software workflows with adaptable hardware. Its modular architecture allows individual components to be replaced, upgraded, or reconfigured without replacing the entire device. An AI-assisted layer supports context-aware behavior, enabling dynamic configuration based on task or usage patterns. The result is a keyboard system that adapts over time while maintaining physical clarity and long-term usability.
